Dr. Marianne Chai, MD

Dr. Marianne Chai is a triple board-certified integrative psychiatrist with over 15 years of clinical experience, specializing in personalized, evidence-based care for individuals, couples, families, and adolescents aged 8 and up. She holds board certifications in adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), providing expert treatment for a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, and social phobias.
Dr. Chai completed her medical training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine before pursuing her psychiatric residency at New York University (NYU). She further specialized with fellowships in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU’s Child Study Center and Addiction Psychiatry at NYU’s Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse. Since 2007, she has been in clinical practice, and her career includes roles as Medical Director of the New York Center for Living (2012-2019) and as a Clinical Instructor at NYU, where she has been teaching since 2012.
Her approach is patient-centered, collaborative, and compassionate. She offers treatment tailored to the unique needs of each individual, including children and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, or attention issues. In addition to her expertise in general psychiatry, Dr. Chai has a strong background in addiction medicine, providing specialized care including comprehensive evaluations, recovery support, and family-focused interventions. Her commitment to inclusive care ensures that patients from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals, feel supported and understood.
Dr. Chai’s treatment philosophy integrates traditional psychiatric methods with complementary approaches, drawing on her expertise in areas like Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition, lifestyle interventions, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Her scope of practice encompasses holistic care for co-occurring psychiatric conditions and supporting long-term mental wellness.
